I did my A4 printed book this week

RESEARCH

Hermann Zapf changed font design in many ways. Firstly, he created the popular Zapf Dingbats, Palatino and Optima fonts. Secondly, he pioneered computer typography, vigorously promoting design from typography to computer typography. Thirdly, he invented the typesetting program that led to much of modern software development.

(Picture 4, Hermann Zapf work)Jan Chisold isone of the greatest typography and font design masters of the 20th century. Hisunderstanding of design can be considered as transcending the limitations ofThe Times, and many of his design concepts are more instructive in the digitalage today. Jan Tschichold’sphilosophy is the idea of extremely clear typography, and legibility is his keydesign philosophy. He wrote the widely read bookDie Neue Typographie,in which he established new typographicalstandards, pushed for the standardization of paper sizes, and establishedtypographical hierarchy guidelines.
